Trip report Elaine, Sierra, Cooper and I had a fun week revisiting the Pacific coast paradise of Playa Grande Costa Rica. We cobbled the trip together last minute as rain was forecast throughout the week for our or original destination on the Atlantic coast of Costa Rica. Having endured a wet winter in the Pacific Northwest, we opted for the sunny side of the country. Our time was spent searching for shells, building sand castles, splashing in the surf, boogie boarding, and enjoying the world class sunsets. Other highlights included a late night turtle tour, where we saw baby Pacific Green turtles hatch then scurry to the ocean as well as momma turtles coming ashore to build nests; and an estuary boat tour where we saw an abundance of birds, reptiles, monkeys and vampire bats. The natural splendors added to a relaxing family vacation, and reminded us of the Pura Vida in Costa Rica! |
