14 August 2007 We have had a bit of a whirlwind mid July - mid August. The middle of July started with Elaine, Sierra, Cooper and I flying up to Cleveland. Elaine and I left Sierra and Cooper with Elaine's sister Margaret at the airport pick up area as Elaine and I turned around to fly back to Cincinnati so I could join her as she worked a three day trip "across the pond" to London (thanks again to Margaret, Jeff, Carol and Howard for watching Sierra and Cooper). Upon our return to the States Elaine and I drove up to Cleveland, reuniting with Sierra and Cooper and spending a couple of nice days with Maribeth, Brian, Margaret, Jeff, Carol and Howard. Our whirlwind continued (with Sierra and Cooper) by driving up to the Webb's in Frankenmuth Michigan for their annual B.G.S.U. get-to-gether. A great time was had by all over the four day weekend as we caught up with Elaine's college friends and their families enjoying idyllic weather (in contrast to the stifling heat and humidity in Cincinnati). After the Frankenmuth festivities wound down we drove back home to Cincinnati and hopped on a plane that evening for Portland, where we had an absolutely fabulous two weeks hiking in the gorge, spending time with family and friends and hosting Cabinfest. As always, visiting Portland made us feel like we were home. Both Sierra and Cooper took all of the traveling and time zone changes in stride, especially enjoying the extra attention that only a Grandma (both Carol and Nita) can provide. We are looking forward to
getting into our school year routine. Sierra started first grade today, and
Cooper will start up his second year of pre school later this month (3 half
days a week). Both are thrilled about the new possibilities. I hope everyone has a good month! Take care. |
