The Great Smoky Moutains car camping trip

Elaine, Sierra, Cooper and I had a fantastic ten day car camping trip visiting the mountainous areas of Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia. Our friends, the Heists, joined us for much of the journey. Along the way we camped in "Blue" (our 6 man tent which kept us dry), and saw Cumberland Falls State Park, Frozen Head State Park, The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Joyce Kilmer Wilderness, and Cumberland Gab National Park.

Sierra and Cooper were able to adapt to car camping (sleeping in a tent and doing a couple mile hikes daily) like pros. We can't wait to do it again!
