2011/12 season report It has been another great snowboarding season! I'm at 33 days on the hill so far this year (as of April 18th), and have been having tons of fun riding with family and friends! Sierra and Cooper have gotten 9 days in and are both shredding up the mountain! This is their first year with Timberline passes, and both have improved by leaps and bounds! Sierra's highlight (so far) was a ride to the top of the Palmer lift on a snow cat, then strapping into her board and riding down to the lodge (2,500 vert). Cooper made the transition to a snowboard this year and is already ripping up the "bone zone", learning how to catch air in the park, and riding low angle trees. Good times! We hope to get a couple more sunny spring days in before our passes turn sour on May 31st. As always, I'm hoping that another waist deep storm will roll through (like last April) before summer activities take hold. Videos from this year -
Trips Interior BC - Rob, Dave and I had a fun twelve day snowboarding trip to Interior BC, which had the deepest snowpack in North America. We rode Red Mountain, Revelstoke, Kicking Horse and Mt Baker (on the way back home). Utah - Brent and I went out to Utah in early March, riding Snowbird in spring like conditions with Mike. Unfortunately we were unable to get into the backcountry, as the Wasatch was experiencing one of the worst years on record for snowpack stability. Thanks again to Mike for hosting Brent and I!
